On a warm sunny afternoon, Michaelangelo was sitting on the back patio. "We know a little house in rural Pennsylvania, where time stands still."
"Whatcha doing there, Orson Wells?" Raphael asked jokingly and he and Mona Lisa came out through the kitchen.
"Can't a dude just kick back and amuse himself a little?"
"He makes a fair point." the ever lovely mutant salamander said squeezing Raphael's arm. "We're both heading out to Lansdale for a bite to eat, and wanted to see if you'd like to join us."
"Nah, I haven't really been in the mood to go back to that part of town ever since Freddy Hill went out of business." Michaelangelo stated. "I don't even wanna know what they're planning to replace it with... unless it's an arcade that serves pizza or something to that effect!"
"I wouldn't know. The missus and I have been a little busy traveling over the last few months!" Raphael mentioned.
"Well, now that Donatello's dimensional portal generator is up and running properly, you can save on airfare!" Jeff said as he and the inventor of the group came out through the screen door.
"Yea, and the best part if you have to worry about getting stuck in some alternate reality with a bunch of fortuitous cameos and special guest stars!" Mikey added jokingly.
  "Very funny!" Don remarked sarcastically.
"He does make a good point, Don." Jeff mentioned. "If this was an IDW comic book, we'd probably get away with most of the fictional characters we've come across, but there's no way it would work as a show on cable, or even a streaming series!"
"Please leave the fourth wall jokes to yours truly?" Raphael asked.
  "My bad, bro!"
"So are we like, waiting for anybody else to show up?" Michaelangelo asked.
Right on cue Leonardo showed up accompanied by Master Splinter and April O' Neil.
"Oh boy, it looks like the van is gonna be fully loaded with all of us going!" the former news reporter commented.
"Actually, I was going to stay behind and tend to my flower garden." the wise old rat replied. "Besides, Lansdale hasn't quite been the same ever since Freddy Hill Farm went out of business!"
"Told ya, dudes!" Mikey said with a smirk.
"I thought we were going to have ourselves a good old fashioned Independence Day cook-out!" Leonardo said in a disappointed tone.
"Oh, it's too hot out to fire up the grill! We'd have to wait until sunset to eat!" Raphael exclaimed.
"For that matter, didn't we eat lunch like half an hour ago?" Donatello added.
"Yea, that was one majorly good spread!" Michaelangelo said, letting out a belated belch. "Okay, now I'm hungry again."
Jeff and Mona Lisa both chuckled and shook their heads.
"My children, I feel it's best.. we... Ow!"
"Master Splinter, what's wrong?" Leonardo said as he and the other Turtles looked on in concern.
"I feel strange." Splinter said as he held onto his head. "Some... essence seems to be within my mind!"
"You don't think it's the Rat King do you?" Donatello asked.
"Couldn't be, dude! We had him sent to, uh... where did he send him last?" Michaelangelo asked.
"I can't recall offhand, but judging by that look on Splinter's face, we're probably going to wish it was the Rat King!" Raphael stated.
"Not even close, you wretched reptiles!"
  "Shredder!" everyone spoke in unison.
"That's right, fools! Just before that annoying time sorcerer purged my physical form and banished by alternate selves back to the underworld, I sought refuge within the very mind of your beloved Hamato Yoshi! I bided my time for years, just waiting for the moment to exact my revenge!"
Raphael sighed in frustration. "You know this isn't the first time you inhabited Master Splinter's body!"
"Oh yea, that was like of the best episodes of our original series!" Michaelangelo boasted.
"Guys, now is definitely not the time to reminisce about our old adventures!"
"Donatello's right! We have to subdue Shredder and figure out a way to get him out of Splinter's body!" Leonardo stated.
"How will you manage to do that when you can't even capture me!" Shredder reached into Splinter's robe and pulled out a device shaped like an hourglass.
"How did he get his hands on..." before Donatello could finish, they watched helplessly as their sensei vanished in a bright light.
"What the heck was that?!" April asked in shock.
"That was Lana Lang's old Null-Time Agent badge. She gave it to me right before she headed back to Smallville. It had just enough juice left for one person to transport themselves to a different dimension!"
"Great! So how do we find out where Shredder went?!"
"Well, remember how I was able to find you guys in San Francisco via your source counterparts?"
"Of course, the Mirage Turtles! If we're lucky, they could help us track down our Splinter."
"Yea, but wasn't their Splinter just a normal rat?" Michaelangelo mentioned.
"It doesn't matter that much in the big scheme of things." Jeff said as they all went back into the house through the kitchen and headed down to the basement where Donatello's dimensional portal was sitting. "Okay, I'll set the coordinates for The Halls of Lost Legends!"

"April, you and Mona Lisa stay here with Jeffrey. He might need your help finding us if we get lost or something." Raphael said.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Donatello said in annoyance.
"You know he's got trust issues dude!" Michaelangelo remarked.
"Good luck finding Master Splinter, guys!" April said as she hugged her lifelong friends, after which Mona Lisa gave Raphael a big kiss.
"Okay, Turtles, lets rescue Master Splinter!" Leonardo said.
The fearsome foursome high-threed in the air and shouted "Turtle Power!" before proceeding to leap one by one through the portal.
"Well, if they don't get back by dinner, I'll just have to order us some DoorDash!" Mona Lisa stated with a grin.
