Growing Old Together - Part Quatro

The Halls of Lost Legends (Dimension <Null>)

A few hours later, all four of the Ninja Turtles and their Master Splinter took Dash and Jack-Jack back to the Halls of Lost Legends where they were reunited with their family.
"My sons, on one of my last visits of this place, I have heard of a special chamber that will allow us to relive shared memories with each other. I was hoping we could try it out."
"A little trip down memory lane would be nice." Donatello said.
"Yea, I could use a dose of nostalgia!" Leonardo added.
"So like, are we going to reminisce about our time living with the Oughtons and hanging out with Jeff and his friends, or are we going to go further back to when we were just cartoon characters?" Michaelangelo asked.
"Considering we can always just watch our old animated exploits on DVD, what's the point?"
"Ah, but this isn't just about merely watching yourselves on a screen. You would actually relive some of your greatest moments!" Splinter stated in excitement.
"Oh right, like a virtual reality simulation, but it's not done through a computer." Don presumed.
"No, they use a special elixir that allows you to transcend time and space." Splinter said as they entered the chamber. Splinter instructed his students to each take a cup and pour the magic potion and take a seat. "Now, think back to one of our earliest adventures, then drink!"
"Which adventure should we relive first?" Donatello asked.
"How about the time Shredder recruited those punks to dress up like us and commit crimes?" Raphael suggested.
"That would be a mondo cool one!" Michaelangelo remarked.

"Well, here goes nothing." Leonardo said as all four of them drank.
"Mmm, tastes like that orange Hi-C they sell at McDonald's!" Mikey mentioned. "Hey, what happened to the room we were in?"
The Turtles found themselves surrounded by the Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang, lead by Smash "You wimps are about to become turtle toe jam!"
"Looks like we're getting right into it, guys." Leo said as he lead two of the mock turtle punks to chase him near a sofa, which he ripped open to get them caught in the springs.
Meanwhile Donatello took his bo staff and tossed a bunch of truck tires into the air, which pinned two more goons. "Hah, it's all coming back to me!"
Meanwhile Raphael and Michaelangelo managed to take down the last two gang members with empty oil drums. Mikey was about to start banging on one of the drums like he remembered doing, when their surroundings changed again and they were back in their old lair, except it was much larger than they remembered. At their feet was a humongous pizza. "Whoa dudes! How did we end up here? This is like paradise."
"Don't you remember, Michaelangelo? This was the time we were searching for the three crystals that formed the Eye of Sarnath!" Donatello said.
"Yea, and Shredder used the first one to shrink us down to the size of action figures." Raphael added.
"And I just remembered what happens at this part" Leonardo said with a frightened expression as they found their lunch and themselves in the midst of a sewer trickle that to them was a huge tidal wave that sent them into the sewer system where they wound up floating on a bar of soap.
"Okay, who's the idiot who was thinking of this episode?!" Raphael griped just as they were faced with a sewer snake.
"Beats me, but I know that I really don't feel like reliving the rest of this scene" Michaelangelo said.
"Then lets skip forward to one of our victories... like the time we first beat the Rat King!" Leonardo suggested.
Suddenly they were full sized and back in the lair, specifically Donatello's old lab. "That's weird, we seemed to have found ourselves at the very end of the episode where I showed off my rodent trapping device and it... oh no!" Before he had the chance to get away, Don was grabbed by a claw that placed him on the conveyor belt and sent him through the machine. When he came out the other end he had a comically large bow tie wrapped around his neck.
Raphael all let out a good laugh. "Oh man, that was quick thinking, Leonardo!"
"For sure. Though I gotta admit, reliving these old adventures is kinda trippy." Michaelangelo admitted.
"Well, it has been over forty years!" Leo. "Okay, lets do one more flashback and call it quits!"
"Lets just try not to think of anything too intense." Donatello spoke.
"Right, like the time we had to deal with those oversized mutant bugs!" Michaelangelo brought up. "Oops."
"Nice going, big mouth!" Raphael griped as they found themselves aboard the Turtle Blimp in broad daylight above the city, with phantoms of Genghis Frog and April as they were being chased by a large flying mud wasp, which used its stinger to pop a hole in the blimp. Thinking quickly, Donatello detached the deflating limp from the glider. While the blimp harmlessly knocked into the side of a tall building, the glider with its six passengers landed on the ground.
"I must admit..." said Genghis, "There was a moment there where I thought I'd never hear the lyrical chirping of the swamp crickets again!"
"We better get out of here, guys!" Leonardo said just as a large mantis approached. The group ran for cover when a large scorpion appeared and began fighting the mantis, which started causing collateral damage to nearby buildings.
"We gotta do something before they wreck the whole city!" said April.
"Boy, we sure could use some of that bug spray they use down in the swamp!" mentioned Genghis.
"Well, I guess we might as well play out the rest of this episode until the memory elixir finally wears off." Donatello said.
"Raphael and Michaelangelo, take Genghis to find that substitute for the Turtle Blimp, while Donatello and I take April to get the bug spray!"
"Hey wait a minute. Why don't we just skip that whole part and get right to when we spray those creepy critters!" Raphael suggested, which in fact had them floating over the city in the dog shaped balloon float.
"Hey dudes, is anyone else a little unnerved by these phantom versions of April and Genghis?"
"They're just illusions created by our memories, Michaelangelo!" Donatello exclaimed.
"Yea, it's not like they're gonna bite or something!" Raphael said as he looked at the fake April's blank stare. "Actually, now that I got a good look, I kinda see why you're so freaked out."
"Guys, lets focus on playing out the scene, and then we'll probably break out of the trance!" Leonardo stated.
The Turtles were about to spray the giant bugs, when suddenly, they were back in the Halls of Lost Legends with Master Splinter. "Welcome back to reality, my sons!"
"Man, that was a really wild experience!" Raphael commented.
"You can say that again!" Leonardo added. "I almost want to go back and relive a bunch more adventures that we had before we ended up in Pennsylvania!"
"You can count me out, dude! There was something truly unsettling about going back there."
"It is very wise of you to make that realization, Michaelangelo." Splinter replied. "The past can be fun to visit, but I do not recommend staying there for very long!"
"So what was the point of doing that?" Raphael asked.
"Yea, and where did you get this pizza from, Master Splinter?" Donatello asked.
"I had it specially made for you four! We've come a long way since we ended up in the real world, and I wanted us to celebrate here."
"I had it specially made for you four! We've come a long way since we ended up in the real world, and I wanted us to celebrate here."
Leonardo couldn't help but shed tears at his sensei's sentiment. "Thank you, Master Splinter." he said as theyall shared a heartfelt hug.
"I feel like we should've brought Jeff along with us. After all, he's been a big part of our lives ever since that fateful encounter with the time-pull!" Michaelangelo said as he cracked open a can of soda, which splattered all over Raphael.
"We'll get the chance to celebrate with Jeff later." Donatello said. "It's obvious Splinter just wants the five of us together for now."
"You're not dying, are you, Master?" Raphael jokingly asked.
Splinter chuckled. "Of course not, but I must admit it is a wonder I am still alive and well!"
"Given the fact that we're technically works of fiction, it's no wonder we've aged at all!!" Leonardo boasted.
"Hey, don't knock it, dude! If we're lucky, we'll make it to 2084!" Michaelangelo boasted.
"Hey I was just wondering. Does Renet happen to know exactly how long we have to live on Earth?" Donatello.
"Even if she did, I'd rather we not find out!" Raphael commented.
"Whenever our time does come to pass, we'll most likely take up residency here along with many other interpretations of us!" Splinter exclaimed.
"I'm a little surprised we haven't seen our Next Mutation counterparts at any point." Leo mentioned
"I dunno, dude. That series had less than stellar ratings." Michaelangelo replied.
"Yea, from what I hear, Peter Laird wasn't too crazy about that Venus DeMilo character. Then again, he was never too crazy about us cartoon Ninja Turtles either!" Raphael added.
"I think we'd have a better chance of running into our Rise counterparts here!" Donatello commented with a chuckle.
Just then, Michaelangelo got a wild idea. "Hey, you know what would be fun? Lets invite all of our counterparts from across the multiverse over for a big party!"
"That sounds like it could be fun, though it might get a little confusing seeing as how we all share the same names as them." Leonardo mentioned.
"I wouldn't mind comparing scientific notes with my alternate selves." Donatello said.
"I'm not really sure I want to hang out with any of my counterparts." Raphael mentioned. "I mean I know I can be a hot head, but compared to most of those other Raphaels, I'm pretty laid back!"
"Sure you are!" Leonardo scoffed. "Anyway, that does sound like a fun idea. Lets have a talk with Jeff over it this weekend!"
