The next morning, Donatello was up bright and early working on the internal plumbing to the new sewer basement.
Michaelangelo was also awake. "Oh man, I'm still a little rattled over everything we've been up to the last couple of days."
"Well, Master Splinter told us we're free to take it easy and stay here... so long as we work on fixing up the place. By the way, you're going to want to get your swim trunks on! I've been asked by the township to help divert excessive water from the rain storms we've had over the last month or so. I managed to create a network of canals connecting the lair to the lake over at Fischer's Park"
"That's totally radical! But like how does it allow us to swim down here?"
"The tunnel I built helps circulate the river's current during heavy rain fall, which results in an underground wave pool for us to play in!"
"Dude, we need to mention this in the invitations for that party we're planning!"
"Okay, hold your horses there. I haven't exactly perfected the water distribution yet! It's gonna take a little while."
Mikey was too excited to pay attention to what Don was telling him, as he ran off to look for the wave pool. He found a hatch marked Wave Pool. "This is going to be totally radical!" he said as he opened the hatch and ran in, expecting to be waist deep in water. "Cowabu- hey what gives? Man, that Donatello... he's worse than those video game companies hyping their releases five years in advance!" Michaelangelo griped, just as he heard a strange sound coming from the far end of the tunnel. "What the heck is that?!" Mikey was suddenly swept up in a rush of water!

"Michaelangelo, I was trying to warn you not to go into the pool room yet!" Donatello's voice could be heard over a loud speaker.
  "Dude, where are you?"
"I'm still in the lab where you left me. To be honest, I'm kinda glad you ran off. It gave me the opportunity to test out the PA system I installed last week!"
"My pleasure, bro. Well, I guess I better go take a hot shower and get the smell of sea bass and algae out of my shell!"
"Don't forget to close the hatch on your way out!"
"No problemo!" Mikey said as he left the lair and headed back upstairs through the main basement. On his way upstairs Michaelangelo passed a very groggy Leonardo.
"Phew! Why do you smell so bad?!"
"Donatello was telling me about his water regulating system and how it results in us getting an underground wave pool."
"And I'm guessing he warned you not to check it out because it wasn't ready yet?"
  "Yep."
"But you went to check it out anyway."
"You know me too well, bro! Anyway, I'm gonna hit the shower."
"Do us all a favor and stay in there until lunch!" Leo said as he pinched his beak.
About an hour and a half later, Michaelangelo was finished his shower when he heard banging in the door.
"Come on, man! I need to brush my teeth!" Raphael shouted from the other side of the door.
  "Keep your shell on, dude!"
"Hurry up! I just had a plate of scrambled eggs, and I don't want bad breath for when I give Mona Lisa a welcome home kiss!"
"They're coming back today?" Michaelangelo asked as he opened the door.
"Yea, they went to a Civil War reenactment and Cousin Sonya got sick from eating some bad fried chicken."
"Yikes! That'll definitely put a damper on any family visit. By the way, did you hear about the wave pool?"
"Oh yea, Donatello told me about that two weeks ago! You think he would learn by now not to tell you about anything fun he's making until it's completely finished."
"For sure, dude! It was like that wind-and-wave generator all over again! Anyway, the bathroom's all yours."
"Thanks. By the way, Jeffrey's coming over, and he picked up some donuts for us to snack on."
"Righteous! We can tell him all about the multi-dimensional Turtle party we're planning!!!"

Not too long after, Jeff arrived, as promised, with a box full of donuts. "I hope you guys all like Boston Cream!"
"Who doesn't?" Mikey said with excitement as he took three for himself.
"Now, Michaelangelo, save some for the rest of us!" Leonardo insisted.
"Dude, there's nine left! Besides, it's not like anyone else is going to show up unannounced!"
Right on cue, the doorbell rang. "Now how did we not see that coming?" Raphael said sarcastically as he opened the door. "Well, there's something you don't see every day!"
Standing at the front porch were a very familiar looking pair of cartoon characters; Ren and Stimpy! "Greetings, friends! My moronic associate and I are going door to door hoping to be of service to your household!"
"Duh, yea. We're two able bodied individuals willing to break our backs with manual labor in exchange for food!"
Leonardo let out am exasperated sigh. "You might as well let them in, Raphael. Maybe Donatello can put them to work in the lair."
"Hey, we could have them hand out snacks at the party!" Mikey boasted as he took a messy bite of one of his donuts.
"Okay, Homer Simpson! Lets cool it with the party planning for a bit!" Raphael stated.
"What kind of party are you guys thinking of having?" Jeff asked.
"Just your standard gathering of alternate counterparts from other dimensions!" Leonardo replied.
"Yea, we're gonna have pizza... and-and dancing, and swimming, and video games! Oh man, I can't wait!"
"Sounds like it's gonna be a blast. How many versions of you guys will you be inviting?" Jeff asked.
"Well, our 4Kids and Nickelodeon selves of course... and I guess our original Mirage counterparts." Leonardo said. "We're debating whether or not to invite our Michael Bay selves."
"Yea, they might feel a little out of place since they're a heck of a lot taller than the rest of us!" Raphael added.
"You're invited as well, of course!" Michaelangelo said to Jeff.
"Oh, I wouldn't miss it for the world! I gotta say, I'm really impressed with how well you've kept this house exactly the way I remember it! I can't imagine it belonging to some random strangers."
"Well, the basement might be a little different at this point!" Leonardo mentioned.
"Oh yea, and make sure you stay away from the wave pool area. It's not ready yet!" Mikey said with a sheepish grin.
Just then Donatello came up to greet everyone. "Hey guys, sorry for being so preoccupied. I've still got a lot of work to do down in the lair."
"Well, we've got some little helpers here who are ready and willing to lend you a hand!" Raphael said as he pointed to Ren and Stimpy. "Honestly at this point we might as well have the Halls of Lost Legends relocate here!"
"Actually, I feel like Burbank, California would be a better location." Jeff replied with a chuckle. "I have been thinking about moving back here. Philadelphia's all right, but I can't help but feel homesick for this place!"
"Of course, Jeffrey. You're always welcome back here!" Leonardo said kindly.
"For sure. If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have had such a good life here in the real world!" Michaelangelo added.
"We really have come a long way here!" Donatello remarked.
"Yea, and something tells me we've still got plenty more adventures to go on in the near future!" Raphael contemplated.
